SABIA Slurry Analyzer Explained
SABIA’s family of PGNA nuclear elemental analyzers includes not only the impressive performance of belt analyzers for cement and coal but also a remarkable line of analyzers that mount on slurry pipes within a customer’s existing operation to provide valuable information about the elemental composition of the slurry. This kind of information permits real time process adjustments that result in improved quality, yield, energy consumption while extending the life of reserves, decreasing unplanned shutdowns, and extending the useful life of equipment. The non-invasive measurement is made on the entire process stream in real time. The SABIA Slurry Analyzer system can also include closed loop real time process control with SABIA offering its own control software. Normally the customer is asked to provide a slurry consisting of about 30% solids at a consistent density flow rate. This can vary depending on the elemental parameter of interest and its concentration. The customer inserts a flanged, six foot section of HDPE pipe into their process stream. In turn the analyzer, which has a clamshell construction bolts onto the six foot HDPE section. The customer brings power, normal 15amp AC service, and an Ethernet cable to the unit and the system is ready to go. The SABIA X1-XP Slurry Analyzers represent a shift in thinking about the way slurries are analyzed when compared to conventional systems which were sample based and relied on troublesome sampling systems and multiplexers.
