SABIA will be giving a presentation about nickel slurry online elemental analysis at COM 2017 in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
The Nickel Slurry presentation time and location is Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 10:30 AM in Regency A – 3rd floor as part of the Ni-Co Pyrometallury Technology II session. The full COM program can be found HERE.
SABIA’s Paul Iverson will present the paper titled “Improving the Process of Blending Consistent and Predictable Feed in the Nickel Smelting Process Using PGNAA Technology” paper/abstract number 9331, written by April Montera. He will discuss how the Sudbury INO team developed strategy to implement PGNAA to gain greater visibility and control of input slurry composition, with the goals of improved process quality, reduced metallurgical upsets, and reduced production costs.
COM 2017 is a combination of two conferences; World Gold 2017 7th International World Gold Conference and Nickel-Cobalt 2017 4th International Conference.
The World Gold symposium will include all aspects of technical innovation related to the gold industry, from exploration through to processing. Presentations will include the following technical streams:
- Geology and mining
- Extractive metallurgy
- Mineralogy and characterization
- Environmental aspects
- Process Flowsheets
- Mineral processing
- Modelling, Optimization, and Process Control
The Nickel-Cobalt symposium will be split between two core disciplines: Hydrometallurgy and Pyrometallurgy of Ni-Co. Hydrometallurgy of Ni-Co session topics include: hydrometallurgical processing of nickel and cobalt ores, concentrates and mattes, as well as the recovery of associated valuable by-products. Papers will be presented on existing operations, projects in the pipeline, R&D initiatives, emerging technologies, laterite processing, processing of sulphides, leaching, solvent extraction, purification, metals refining and PGM recovery. Pyrometallurgy of Ni-Co topics include advances in the processing of nickel, cobalt and PGMs featuring pyrometallurgical techniques for the treatment of ores, concentrates and other materials. Papers will be presented on existing operations, projects in the pipeline, R&D initiatives, emerging technologies, laterite processing, PGM recovery, and processing of sulfides.
Contact SABIA for any information about how online elemental analyzers can be used to optimize these processes.
